This Week In Pictures (10/18 - 10/24)

What a WEEK! First I'm nursing the youngest two back to good health and then they generously spread their crud to me (so lovingly, of course). It's so hard to run the daily show while being sick so many things were placed on hold or chucked out the window. It's a reminder to myself to SLOW DOWN! That should be our family motto for next year. I have been planning Aubrey's birthday party for months now. Had SO many wonderful and creative ideas and last minute due to me being sick all week unable to get it all done, I just threw some ides to John and asked him to take over. It turned out being a great party but it's hard to make that mental change when you originally wanted it a certain way. So this week, we cancelled our library story time trips and stayed inside, cancelled apple butter making with a friend, cancelled Aubrey's piano lessons, cancelled John & I's Anniversary date, tried to sleep when the kids took naps, took the kids and myself to doctor appointments, hosted Aubrey's friend birthday party and went to our ward's Trunk-or-treat Halloween party at the church. I'm hoping next week I can get back into the swing of things and get over this nasty cold. But until then, I'm laying low. Have a great week everyone!

Friends Birthday Party

A lot was going on around Aubrey's birthday this year. And one word could define what was keeping us busy: soccer! Practices, games, playoffs and end of the season trophy party. (We of course threw her a family party on her actual birthday.) So her friends party as a few weekends after her actual birthday and boy did she have fun!!! Some of the party plans I had prepared in a few months time didn't go through like I wanted due to me having a sinus infection and feeling horrible. But John stepped in and saved the day (as well as my good friend Marie) and no one knew otherwise that the original party plans had changed. I couldn't have pulled off a great afternoon for Aubrey without them! It was perfect.

To My Husband

John,

Happy 4 years of marriage honey! (and here's to forever!) I love you more and more with each passing day and I'm eternally thankful for having one amazing husband! And to think: we owe so much to the fact that I didn't eat before our math final. Glad my growling tummy prompted you to ask me out. :) I'm so glad you are mine! Love you today and always!!!!

Ten Months

Andrew is now ten months old! Boy howdy I'm not sure how that happened! But his little personality is so cute and fun and we love watching him grow up. This past month he:

* says MAMA! :)
* has his top 4 teeth coming through and isn't cranky in the slightest.
* eating more and more finger foods: black beans, yogurt, animal crackers, cut up fruit snacks, grilled cheese sandwiches, banana slices, cooked peas, and parts of my blueberry muffin.
* still loves the bath. and I do mean love because he screams and goes limp when it's time to get out. i call this a preview to a tantrum.
* claps his hands together & smiles.
* scooting, or should I say pivoting, while sitting on the floor. still won't have anything to do with crawling. cries when we attempt to help him crawl.
* still wins his mama's heart.

Fall 09 Soccer

This season of soccer, Aubrey was placed on a new team. Her last coach resigned and the teammates she's played with for years ended up scattering to different teams. It's been good for her - meeting new friends but their team this season wasn't so fortunate in the winning department. I take that back. They won a few games. That really isn't the point of her playing anyways. She had a great season! And they DID make it to playoffs but lost the first game. We couldn't have been more proud of how well she did! Here are some pictures of her throughout the fall soccer season...

Aubrey Turns TEN!

I can't believe my oldest "baby" turned TEN today! TEN years ago she made me a Mother and I'm so thankful she was blessed into our family. What a good (and challenging) TEN years it has been! :) I have to say that people are still shocked when they hear that I have a TEN year old! (Sometimes even I am!) They probably think that I started having children at TEN. But alas I didn't. I was 20. The same age my Mom was when she had me too. And speaking of Moms...Aubrey and my Mom have shared their birthday's together for the past TEN years now. (Happy Birthday Mom!) And no, I didn't take orders. It was a nice surprise as she was really due on the 18th but due to complications, we lucked out and she was born on Grandma's birthday. It's so weird to think that I have a TEN year old now. Where in the world did the time go? It seems like she was just a baby yesterday!! The preteens has hit so wish us L.U.C.K! We're going to need it because there is that famous saying: "what goes around, comes around!" All jokes aside, I look forward to the journey ahead with my sweet daughter! Happy Birthday Aubrey! We love you very much!! :)
