Father's Day 2010

This Father's Day was pretty low key. First thing in the morning, the kids pulled him into their rooms and gave him hug-attacks and his Father's Day card! I let them pick it out themselves and found it pretty funny. Here's what it said:

(Front of the card):
"From the whole gang

Dad, you go off to work in the morning,
and you come home in the evening.
Day after day, week after week.
And why?"

(Open the card):
"Because if you stayed home with US all day, you'd GO NUTS.
Happy Father's Day to a DAD WE'RE nuts about!"

The kids made their Dad feel extra special!

After church, the girls and I made him a yellow cake with chocolate frosting - with the sprinkles spelling out "Dad." And for dinner, we made him breakfast: french toast, sausage and hashbrowns. How's THAT for royal treatment? :)

Happy Father's Day

I have two great men in my life: my dad and my husband. Both have given me love and strength and both are each other's friend. I'm grateful for each of them and wanted them to know on Father's Day how important they each are in my life.

Wishing my Dad a Happy Father's Day today! (Across the 3,000 or so miles - I miss you!) A man I have always been proud and happy to call Dad. He has taught me so much, encouraged me to always be my best and to follow my heart. He has always been there for me and I can truly call him one of my best friends! :) "Love you, Dad!"

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband, best friend and the father of our children! I always knew you'd be fun and loving to our children and I love watching you play and interact with them. We are so happy and blessed to have you in our life and couldn't imagine it any better! The kids adore you, as do I.
"I love you!"

So Glad When Daddy Comes Home!

These kids sure do LOOOOOVE their daddy!
This is how he gets greeted home after work each day!
Bombarded with lots of welcoming hugs!!!
And his face depicts how I feel at the end of the day! WORN out! hahaha :)
But he's fun and they love the special attention he gives them!

Such a great husband I have.

And a wonderful father to my children.

Couldn't ask or be blessed with better!

Father's Day 2009

{This picture: Jocelyn's Baby Blessing: October 8, 2006 Gresham Oregon. My Dad: fourth in from the left and my step Dad: third in from the right. It's obviously time to get a more recent photo.}

Wanted to wish the men in our family as well as our close friends who are Dad's a Happy Father's Day today! We love you and are so grateful for you. Thank you for all that you do. We look forward to reuniting with our family back west in just a few short months! :)

{John and the kids after church. Yes, not the best time to take the kids pictures. AFTER church and BEFORE lunch=TIRED!}

{The girls watching the cookies bake}

{Andrew being cute as ever: playing with his toes & smiling}

{John grilling: just for the record. I DID offer to make him dinner. But he was in the mood for some grilling. Who am I to say no to that? :)}

I hope John had a great Father's Day. We spent it by going to church, John (and all the fathers at church) received a pie to take home (YUM!), naps all around, talked to family on the phone, baked cookies for our home teacher, took cookies to our home teacher and hung out with them for awhile, and ended the wonderful day by cramming in a bunch of homework before the midnight deadline. (Again, John - not me!) Whew. What a day. But it SURE was fun! "Thanks honey for being such a great Father to our wonderful children. They sure do love and admire you!"
